We support initiatives to protect people's privacy rights.
DonateForChange.Org collects and maintains information through two third-party services, PayPal and DemocracyInAction.
Your credit card and related information is maintained on secure servers maintained by PayPal. PayPal's privacy policy governs how DonateForChange.Org and PayPal use that information. PayPal's privacy policy is available here.
DemocracyInAction provides us with list maintenance and listserv tools that we use to send you announcements, alerts and other information about DonateForChange.Org. DemocracyInAction's privacy policy is available here.
Through DemocracyInAction, we monitor our systems and our networks and collect standard logs of access to them. We have never used our access logs or the results of our monitoring for anything but our own administrative purposes. We have never opened those logs or the results of our monitoring to anyone other than our administrators, representatives or agents. It is not our policy to use our access logs or the results of our monitoring for any other purpose.
DonateForChange.Org does not share any list or personal information maintained through PayPal, DemocracyInAction or otherwise with any third parties, except that we do reserve the right to disclose the results of any monitoring or information retrieval to law enforcement authorities if we deem such disclosure to be appropriate.
DonateForChange.Org’s website is hosted on FutureQuest. FutureQuest may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with its servers and/or for administration of its web sites. IP addresses and user agents are also tracked during form submissions. Information collected is used solely to protect FutureQuest, Inc. and its clients from fraudulent requests.
Information collected is solely for the use of FutureQuest, Inc. and is not distributed to a third party except in the event that illegal or fraudulent activity is recognized. Only then is information passed on, and only to a Law Enforcement Agency. We will also turn over information to Law Enforcement if subpoenaed.
Cookies: A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. For example, by setting a cookie on the FutureQuest Order Forms, the user would not have to re-enter his name and address information more than once, thereby saving time while placing multiple orders. If a user rejects the cookie, he may still use the FutureQuest web sites (with the exception of specific utilities that may require the use of cookies to work correctly), however the user would need to re-enter the optional cookie information upon each return visit.
Security: FutureQuest, Inc. takes every precaution to protect its users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, the information is protected to the best of our ability both online and off-line.
When a registration or order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number or mailing address), the user has the option of entering that information in an encrypted format with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just “surfing.”
All forms available on the FutureQuest web sites, that request sensitive information, offer a secure method of submitting. We encourage all users who are capable of utilizing secure areas to use the secure forms. A link to the secure option can be found on any non-secure forms that request sensitive information.
While FutureQuest uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information offline in order to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. All user information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a billing or service representative <http://service.futurequest.net/>) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
Log Files: FutureQuest, Inc. uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather general demographic information for aggregate use. FutureQuest may from time to time share this aggregate information with others providing it is not able to be linked to personally identifiable information.
